Claire Redfield grinned. “Thanks, you’re not looking too shabby yourself. How have you been?”

Ada sat down. “Oh, everything’s fine – you know me. I’m everywhere and nowhere.”

“True,” Claire replied and one moment later a waitress appeared to take their orders. Ada and Claire started talking once the waitress had gone again about their lifes, their friends... and work.

“You know what kinda surprises me,” Ada mused over her cup of coffee. “That no one ever asked you, from where you get all your informations. Neither TerraSave nor the DSO.”

Claire looked up from her piece of cake. “The guys over at TerraSave don’t know me good enough for it and while Leon is – considering his age – a very wise, intelligent and experienced man...” Claire paused. “But sometimes Leon is just blonde.”

Ada sputtered into her cup, then looked at Claire and the disbelief in her face was obvious. “Did I just hear you right?” she asked.

Claire just grinned and stuffed a piece of cake into her mouth. “I still love him though.”

It was already late, when Claire and Ada left the cafe and for one moment the chinese spy stopped. “Claire, be careful, okay? I’ve heard rumors and while I couldn’t confirm them I have a bad feeling about this. Since Wesker’s death the balance of power has started to shift. I’m worried. Something is brewing in the shadows with a puppetmaster we don’t know.”

Claire sighed. “Leon said the same thing – looks as if we both have to be careful,” she replied and gave Ada a hug of farewell. “Take care, Butterfly.”

“You too, Red.”

Little did they know... a week later both of them found themselves at places they hadn’t expected to be – in the middle of a war and on a deserted island filled with poor souls, who never had a chance to escape the madness of one person.
